Frequently Asked Question

What is Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)?

Conversion rate optimization is a method of measuring consumer behavior on your website and using data and multivariate testing to determine ways to improve your site experience to gain more conversions.

How are “conversions” and “micro-conversions” defined?

Conversions can be any action you would like your users to take on your website, such as completing a purchase for a product or service, and filling out a lead form. Micro conversions are additional actions you would like them to take as a secondary priority to the main conversions, such as: adding products to cart, subscribing to a newsletter and/or SMS texting, cross-selling, upselling, scheduling an appointment, downloading an e-book, and more.

When should I do CRO?

Ideally CRO should be an ongoing process of continually refining and adapting your website. Because the competitive landscape is ever changing, ongoing CRO can help you remain competitive at all times. Many clients reach out to us when they are about to make website changes to ensure they are making the right ones. We find it common that companies will have just completed a beautiful new website update, yet they are unsure of why users are not converting.

Can your team make creative, copy and development changes to my site as part of this program?

Absolutely! Our team of CRO specialist, brand strategists, designers and developers are all available to you to build out the tests that are recommended. You will work directly with them to ensure that all work is on brand and approved by you before going live.

Can your team make creative, copy and development changes to my site as part of this program?

During our kickoff call and discovery period, we will work with your team to understand the business and develop a CRO brief together.  Some if the items we need to understand and access are:

  • Access to data collection tools
  • Target audience and persona building
  • Key competitors
  • Seasonality of your product
  • A list of all software and applications on your site

How much traffic do you need in order to have a successful test?

We recommend having at least 200,000 website visitors per year, or roughly 550 website visitors per day.

Can we begin testing immediately?

Our programs start with an over arching strategy that is customized to your specific business and designed to meet your business goals. One of the strongest benefits of A/B testing is that you walk away with a deeper understanding of why your consumers are behaving in a certain way, and those learnings can inform more modifications to your site. Starting from a place of data-backed strategy will allow for the most valuable learnings as opposed to just conducting tests based on gut feeling and finding successes based on luck

What if I have my own in-house creatives and developers?

Our team is accustomed to working with in house teams to execute the CRO strategy, or in some cases, we hand the strategy off to the in-house team to execute. We will continue to support the program through measurement and validation.
